Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Warhol vs. Mao, After Mapplethorpe by Alex Guofeng Cao for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,292.58). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Alex Guofeng Cao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warhol Versus Mao, After Mapplethorpe, 2009 in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,328.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Warhol vs. Mao, After Mapplethorpe von Alex Guofeng Cao für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.292,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Guofeng Cao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warhol Versus Mao, After Mapplethorpe, 2009 im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.328,45).
