In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art, which included the work Barracudas by Alejandro Obregón. The »bidding war« ended at USD 237,500.00 (€ 224,862.72), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alejandro Obregón; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bodegón sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).

Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barracudas von Alejandro Obregón zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 224.862,72) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alejandro Obregón; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Bodegón im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66).
