Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waiting To Cross by Albert Joseph Moore was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 365,687.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Albert Joseph Moore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jasmine in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,777,250.00 (€ 2,246,503.59).
