Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Girl, Probably Milly Jones by Albert Joseph Moore was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,422.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Joseph Moore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jasmine in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,777,250.00 (€ 2,246,503.59).
