Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Ellington by Albert Irvin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,586.30), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Irvin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study For Homerton, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,734.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ellington von Albert Irvin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.586,30) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Irvin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study For Homerton beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.734,16) versteigert wurde.
