In March last year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Self-Portrait with Animal Mask by Adrian Ghenie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,050,000.00 (€ 1,244,893.18), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Adrian Ghenie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pie Fight Interior 12 in May last year with an auction result of HKD 81,060,000.00 (€ 9,623,561.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait with Animal Mask von Adrian Ghenie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.050.000,00 (€ 1.244.893,18) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adrian Ghenie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pie Fight Interior 12 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.060.000,00 (€ 9.623.561,64).
