In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included this untitled work by Abel Auer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,316.24), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abel Auer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Roter Wald (Red Forest) sold at auction in September 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,337.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Abel Auer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.316,24) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Abel Auer; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Roter Wald (Red Forest) im September 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.337,27).
