A top price for Abel Auer - as previously expected
The work Roter Wald (Red Forest) by Abel Auer was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in September 2010. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,337.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Roter Wald (Red Forest) is the most expensive artwork by Abel Auer that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Roter Wald (Red Forest) von Abel Auer wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.337,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Roter Wald (Red Forest) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Abel Auer, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
