Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A village on the bank of a tranquil river by Alfred H. Vickers was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,027.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred H. Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ferry in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.027,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
