The work Reading In The Mountain Retreat by Zhao Zuo was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2013. It achieved a price of USD 68,750.00 (€ 53,643.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Admittedly, works by Zhao Zuo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 506,500.00 (€ 393,979.46).

Die Arbeit Reading In The Mountain Retreat von Zhao Zuo wurde im März 2013 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 53.643,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhao Zuo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 506.500,00 (€ 393.979,46).
