Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reading In The Mountain Retreat by Zhao Zuo was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 69,290.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhao Zuo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 506,500.00 (€ 393,979.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reading In The Mountain Retreat von Zhao Zuo wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 69.290,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhao Zuo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 506.500,00 (€ 393.979,46).
