A top price for Zhang Xin
This artwork by Zhang Xin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Hibiscus and Flowering Cassia sold for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 12,715.07) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. This high result makes Hibiscus and Flowering Cassia the most expensive artwork by Zhang Xin that we have observed at auctions so far.
