In July 2020 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Paintingsthe online sale, which included the work Monkey by Zhang Wentao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 10,837.50 (€ 1,187.39), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Wentao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 483,000.00 (€ 44,922.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Paintingsthe online sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monkey von Zhang Wentao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 10.837,50 (€ 1.187,39) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Wentao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 483.000,00 (€ 44.922,13).
