Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhang Wentao achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in April 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy I auction, the work Meditating sold for HKD 236,000.00 (€ 26,863.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Wentao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of HKD 483,000.00 (€ 44,922.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Wentao erzielte im April 2019 bei POLY einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy I wurde die Arbeit Meditating für HKD 236.000,00 (€ 26.863,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Wentao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 483.000,00 (€ 44.922,13).
