Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhang Wentao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June this year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script sold for HKD 126,000.00 (€ 14,723.08) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Wentao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 483,000.00 (€ 44,922.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Wentao erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script für HKD 126.000,00 (€ 14.723,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Wentao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 483.000,00 (€ 44.922,13) versteigert wurde.
