Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Letter by Zhang Wentao was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,941.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Wentao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 483,000.00 (€ 44,922.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Letter von Zhang Wentao wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.941,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Wentao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 483.000,00 (€ 44.922,13).
