Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Autumn Landscape by Zhang Wentao was worth HKD 212,400.00 (€ 25,882.36) to a buyer in November 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Wentao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of HKD 483,000.00 (€ 44,922.13).

Die Arbeit Autumn Landscape von Zhang Wentao war einem Käufer im November 2016 HKD 212.400,00 (€ 25.882,36) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Wentao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 483.000,00 (€ 44.922,13).
