It achieved a price of HKD 73,160.00 (€ 8,052.12), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Zhang Tingji have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Standard Script in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 76,334.97).

Die Arbeit Five-Character Couplet In Regular Script von Zhang Tingji wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 73.160,00 (€ 8.052,12) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Tingji auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Standard Script im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 76.334,97).
