A top price for Zhang Tingji
This artwork by Zhang Tingji achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Standard Script sold for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 76,334.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Standard Script the most expensive artwork by Zhang Tingji that we have observed at auctions so far.
