This artwork by Zhang Peng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in February 2009. In the Contemporary Art Day auction, the work Red Number 3 sold for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 10,147.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Peng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gui Fei sold at auction in June 2009 with the realized price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,734.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Peng erzielte im Februar 2009 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day wurde die Arbeit Red Number 3 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 10.147,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Peng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Gui Fei im Juni 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.734,66).
