Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Zhang Chonghe was auctioned at China Guardian in October last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 55,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 204,000.00 (€ 26,141.74). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Chonghe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy In Regular Script sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of HKD 413,000.00 (€ 47,205.29).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Zhang Chonghe im Oktober letzten Jahres bei China Guardian versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 55.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 204.000,00 (€ 26.141,74) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Chonghe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 413.000,00 (€ 47.205,29).
