Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhang Chong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Zhong Kui sold for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 21,850.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Chong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ink Peony, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 58,014.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Chong erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Zhong Kui für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 21.850,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Chong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ink Peony beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 58.014,58) versteigert wurde.
