Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New York Night by Yun Gee was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 4,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,125,000.00 (€ 239,278.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yun Gee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old Broadway in Winter in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 58,600,000.00 (€ 6,402,313.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New York Night von Yun Gee kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.000.000,00 – 4.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 2.125.000,00 (€ 239.278,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yun Gee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Old Broadway in Winter im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 58.600.000,00 (€ 6.402.313,62).
