This artwork by Yu Pingbo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Two Calligraphies sold for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,608.29) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yu Pingbo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems In Kaishu in October 2012 with an auction result of HKD 596,000.00 (€ 59,333.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Pingbo erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Two Calligraphies für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.608,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Pingbo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems In Kaishu im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 596.000,00 (€ 59.333,23).
