Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yu Pingbo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Kaishu sold for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,574.63) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Pingbo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems In Kaishu, which sold at auction in October 2012 for HKD 596,000.00 (€ 59,333.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Pingbo erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Kaishu für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.574,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Pingbo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems In Kaishu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für HKD 596.000,00 (€ 59.333,23) versteigert wurde.
