Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Audrey Hepburn by Yousuf Karsh was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2019. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,273.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yousuf Karsh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fifteen Portraits, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,970.84).

Die Arbeit Audrey Hepburn von Yousuf Karsh kam im Juni 2019 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.273,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yousuf Karsh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fifteen Portraits beobachtet, die im April 2013 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.970,84) versteigert wurde.
