The work Sandhill (Sakyu) by Yokoyama Taikan was sold in the JAPANESE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in New York in November 2000. The »bidding war« ended at USD 171,000.00 (€ 196,687.37), 71% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yokoyama Taikan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Miho no Fujisan (Mount Fuji from Miho), which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 358,000.00 (€ 411,778.24).

Die Arbeit Sandhill (Sakyu) von Yokoyama Taikan wurde im November 2000 in der Auktion JAPANESE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 171.000,00 (€ 196.687,37) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yokoyama Taikan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Miho no Fujisan (Mount Fuji from Miho) beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 358.000,00 (€ 411.778,24) versteigert wurde.
