Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Isla (Eterno retorno) by Yoan Capote. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,720.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yoan Capote - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isla (in memoriam), which sold at auction in September last year for USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Isla (Eterno retorno) von Yoan Capote zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.720,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Yoan Capote mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isla (in memoriam) beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76) versteigert wurde.
