In March last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work David (faceted) by Xavier Veilhan. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,877.44), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xavier Veilhan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sophie no. 1, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,054.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit David (faceted) von Xavier Veilhan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.877,44) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xavier Veilhan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sophie no. 1 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 62.054,58) versteigert wurde.
