Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Thoughts Across the Waters by Wucius Wong. The price achieved of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 38,893.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 240,000.00 – 360,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wucius Wong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sky-Land Expression 1 (Diptych), which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,581.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thoughts Across the Waters von Wucius Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 38.893,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 240.000,00 – 360.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wucius Wong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sky-Land Expression 1 (Diptych) beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.581,85) versteigert wurde.
