In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Flowing Water No. 1 by Wucius Wong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 138,600.00 (€ 15,351.08), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wucius Wong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sky-Land Expression 1 (Diptych) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,581.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowing Water No. 1 von Wucius Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 138.600,00 (€ 15.351,08) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wucius Wong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sky-Land Expression 1 (Diptych) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.581,85).
