This artwork by Wu Zuo Ren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006. In the 20th Century Chinese Art auction, the work Sunset on the Plateau sold for HKD 456,000.00 (€ 45,802.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 240,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wu Zuo Ren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chung-Qing in Flame in October 2002 with an auction result of HKD 1,724,100.00 (€ 223,691.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 90 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Zuo Ren erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Sunset on the Plateau für HKD 456.000,00 (€ 45.802,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 240.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Zuo Ren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chung-Qing in Flame im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.724.100,00 (€ 223.691,55).
