Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Sixteen prints by the artist by Wols for USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,483.70). This price was achieved in the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,800.00 – 10,700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wols achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,082,901.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sixteen prints by the artist von Wols für USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.483,70) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.800,00 – 10.700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wols erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.082.901,53).
