Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wols could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Sale auction, the work La Turquoise changed hands for GBP 1,104,000.00 (€ 1,296,915.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wols - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans Titre, which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,082,901.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wols konnte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Sale wechselte die Arbeit La Turquoise für GBP 1.104.000,00 (€ 1.296.915,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wols mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans Titre beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.082.901,53) versteigert wurde.
