Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Profile with Crown Birds by Wole Lagunju was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 8,890.00 (€ 8,176.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wole Lagunju - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flower Power Mask III, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,545.89).

Die Arbeit Profile with Crown Birds von Wole Lagunju wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.890,00 (€ 8.176,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wole Lagunju mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flower Power Mask III beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.545,89) versteigert wurde.
