Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Stanhope gate, London by Willy Sluiter for EUR 1,875.00. This price was achieved in the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willy Sluiter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Modern times: promenading on Scheveningen boulevard in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 89,625.00.
