It achieved a price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 48,187.24), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by William Zorach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Spirit of the Dance' in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 365,900.00 (€ 270,276.26).

Die Arbeit Spirit Of The Dance von William Zorach kam im April 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 48.187,24) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Zorach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Spirit of the Dance' im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.900,00 (€ 270.276,26).
