In May 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Popham Beach by William Zorach. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,422.50 (€ 1,986.63), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Zorach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Spirit of the Dance' in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 365,900.00 (€ 270,276.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Popham Beach von William Zorach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.422,50 (€ 1.986,63) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Zorach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Spirit of the Dance' im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.900,00 (€ 270.276,26).
