In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Autumn by William Zorach. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,875.00 (€ 30,877.65), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Zorach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Spirit of the Dance' in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 365,900.00 (€ 270,276.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn von William Zorach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.875,00 (€ 30.877,65) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Zorach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Spirit of the Dance' im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.900,00 (€ 270.276,26).
