Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Maine Houses by William Zorach was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2017. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,589.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Zorach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Spirit of the Dance' in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 365,900.00 (€ 270,276.26).
