The work Arabs at a temple on the Nile by William Simpson was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2010. It achieved a price of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,080.95), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
