In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Paul F. Walter, which included the work The Brindjarries by William Simpson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,751.21), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Paul F. Walter durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Brindjarries von William Simpson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.751,21) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Simpson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.040,39).
