This price was achieved in the auction The Raglan Collection: Wellington, Waterloo and The Crimea And Works of Art from the Collection of the Marquesses of Londonderry at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by William Simpson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
