A top price for William Simpson - as previously expected
The work Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives by William Simpson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives is the most expensive artwork by William Simpson that we have observed at auctions so far.
