Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Portrait of Mr. James C. Gregory; and a companion portrait of Mrs. Alice Hail Gregory by William Samuel Schwartz. The price achieved of USD 3,600.00 (€ 3,053.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Samuel Schwartz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sun Bathers in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 52,467.07).

Im November 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Mr. James C. Gregory; and a companion portrait of Mrs. Alice Hail Gregory von William Samuel Schwartz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 3.053,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Samuel Schwartz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sun Bathers im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 52.467,07).
