Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait by William Samuel Schwartz was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,623.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Samuel Schwartz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sun Bathers, which sold at auction in November 2001 for USD 47,000.00 (€ 52,467.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait von William Samuel Schwartz kam im September 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.623,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Samuel Schwartz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sun Bathers beobachtet, die im November 2001 für USD 47.000,00 (€ 52.467,07) versteigert wurde.
