Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Three Graces; and a companion lithograph by William Samuel Schwartz was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in June 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 812.50 (€ 515.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Samuel Schwartz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sun Bathers in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 52,467.07).

Die Arbeit The Three Graces; and a companion lithograph von William Samuel Schwartz wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 812,50 (€ 515,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Samuel Schwartz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sun Bathers im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 52.467,07).
