Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work A Countryside by William Samuel Schwartz for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,375.39). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Samuel Schwartz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sun Bathers in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 52,467.07).
