Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On the Veranda by William Samuel Schwartz was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2004. It achieved a price of USD 9,560.00 (€ 7,777.42), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by William Samuel Schwartz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sun Bathers in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 52,467.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit On the Veranda von William Samuel Schwartz kam im März 2004 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 9.560,00 (€ 7.777,42) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Samuel Schwartz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sun Bathers im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 52.467,07).
