Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work View in Plymouth Sound; View from Plymouth both 13 x 16.8cm (5 1/8 x 6 5/8in). (2) by William Payne. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,360.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by William Payne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping lying on the Tamar before Pentillie Castle in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit View in Plymouth Sound; View from Plymouth both 13 x 16.8cm (5 1/8 x 6 5/8in). (2) von William Payne zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.147,50 (€ 1.360,49) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Payne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping lying on the Tamar before Pentillie Castle im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.335,36).
